deCrea Behind The Seams Fashion Blog Post-Feb2024
What Do You See When You Look Behind The Seams??
What do you see when you look behind the seams? Have you ever turned your garment inside out and truly taken a closer look at the stitches, threads, and seam lines that make that garment you wear what it is? Have you ever thought even deeper to wonder who the designer or seamstress was that sat at the sewing machine somewhere in this world and created that handbag you love so much, or that trench coat that keeps you looking good while it keeps you warm? What about the feelings, emotions, and life circumstances that the designer must have had to inspire such a creation, or the vision that came to mind when the fabric was first purchased at the store?
Well, we often consider these things when it comes to musical artist when we say things like, "Wow, they sang the heck out of that song, cause they must have felt it inside!" Some artist are just known for pouring their hearts out on a song or entire album, all because of what they may have went through, or could still be going through. This can be good or bad circumstances in our lives, but as a designer I know that I personally experience some of those same highs and lows in my life and business, that may show up in the designs I create.
What yall know bout these vegan Walnut Tacos I made for lunch?!! Because I know it’s simple, quick, & good! 😊

There's a chance that if you knew or had some of these things shared with you, it may just inspire you to do something you've been contemplating. The deCrea Duffle Bag and skirt I'm wearing in the photo is very special to me because it was inspired by this beautiful purple African print material that my big brother, Kelii, brought me back from former President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela's tailor shop that he purchased while visiting South Africa! All of my Motherland Collection bags are named after real African Queens, and made from real African fabric prints so I named the handbag "Nandi" which is available right now at www.deCreaClothingCompany.com. But I'm keeping the skirt for myself. LoL!
After considering the "Positive" impact that restarting my blog could have on readers and the way I can use it as a tool to share my story in the most organic way convinced me that it was the thing to do. How would you know my journey of being an independent Fashion Designer and Entrepreneur that creates everything straight from scratch, in my at-home sewing studio? Then take my own product photos in-house and around my home city of Atlanta in front of beautiful murals that I love, even in some sketchy looking places...all to sell my products to the world online and in various boutiques! Sure, I love what I do, but I have faith that I'll soon have my creations manufactured in the near future, and then deCrea will be available in department stores across the country. But until then and even thereafter, sharing how God has blessed me with so many creative gifts is what I aim to do through this blog platform.
So you can look to expect DIY and How-To sewing videos on various projects, some stories telling about the inspiration behind certain designs, crafty home decor type projects, and healthy plant-based recipes that I made up myself and enjoy everyday. Or some of this behind the seams info could be just enough to inspire you to keep going on a goal you've already started.
What would you think about the vegan blueberry pancakes and vegan cheese grits with yucca fries that your designer ate to gain the energy to tackle such a project, while missing her favorite chicken wings from the China Cafeteria and that amazing roast beef plate with rice from Big Daddy's Cafe! Oh my! But anyways, you may be able to eat healthier too if you tried some of my original Plant-Based recipes that I plan to share with you right here on my blog!

Vegan Walnut Tacos
What yall know bout these vegan Walnut Tacos I made for lunch?!! Because I know it’s simple, quick, & good! 😊
These totally plant-based tacos replace the usual ground beef, with seasoned and sautéed walnuts instead of real meat. Even if you're not vegan or plant-based with your overall diet, it's a tasty option for like a Meatless Monday meal that only takes10-15 minutes to cook!
I chopped up 4 sweet peppers, about 1 half of a red/purple onion, & 1 garlic clove then sautéed it in olive oil with some chopped walnuts for about 10 minutes in the skillet, or until the walnuts are slightly softened. You can cook it to your own preference, but they tend to get a little softer when chopped into smaller pieces. I seasoned the mixture with garlic & onion powder, paprika, basil, oregano, salt, & pepper. Then I added it to my soft tacos, with vegan shredded cheddar cheese, fresh sliced tomato, lettuce, & some mild salsa. I have no beef/problems with this quick lunch option! Hope you get a chance to try it out and enjoy it as much as I do! Please leave a comment if you have any questions or let me know how you liked the recipe if you decide to make some Vegan Walnut Tacos for lunch or dinner.
Until next time, that's what been going on with deCrea Behind The Seams! I'll try to drop a new blog post 1-2 times each month moving forward, so if my stories help 1 or 1000 people in even the smallest way, then I've already got the Victory! So who gone check me Boo?!! 😁
Sincerely,
Tina Stinson
